Prof. Dr. Eckart Liebau

Since 1992, Eckart Liebau has held the Educational Science II chair and has been a member of the board at the Institute for Educational Science of the Philosophy Faculty at Friedrich Alexander University in Erlangen-Nuremberg. He studied sociology, educational science, politics, and history at the universities of Göttingen, Kassel, and Tübingen and, after qualifying as a professor, held the German Research Foundation’s Heisenberg scholarship at the University of Tübingen from 1988 to 1992. His work is focused on the field of general educational science (including educational and cultural theory) and on school and arts education (aesthetic education in history and present).
